Jams and preserved fruit
It’s the season to preserve that glorious summer fruit in a sugar syrup and put a ribbon on it, friends! These heady days of stone fruit are always too fleeting, and even making a small batch of a few jars is well worth the effort. In fact, smaller batches of jam are easier and tend to be more successful, though no matter how your jam turns out we know it will be utterly delicious, and promptly devoured with gratitude.

Want to finish off your gifts with a little extra flair and personality? Try these out:
Sprigs of green. We love to look outside and add a little moment from the world around us – try greenery that you love and that will keep well (avoid very young foliage as it will wilt easily). How about a sprig of rosemary or fresh bay leaves, or a little spray of eucalyptus?
Dried citrus does it all. Finely slice any citrus with a sharp knife or mandolin, arrange in a single layer on a baking tray, then bake slow and low (a few hours in a 90ºC fan forced oven, flipping once). Alternatively use a food dehydrator set to low. When dried, simply attach along with a gift tag using a ribbon or kitchen string. Swimming in citrus? Thread lots of dehydrated citrus slices into this decorative festive garland!
Bringing back fabric wraps. We think good ideas never go out of style so why not get festive with fabric scraps. Just choose a colourful material to generously cover the jar lid and tie with string. Extra points if you have zig zag scissors / pinking shears! The fabric can also double as a gift tag with a marker or fabric pen, or try creating your own festive fabric design to fully personalise your wrapping!
